Data & Disaster
Recovery
Data
Link Associates recovers data from storage media that has been corrupted
due to hardware or software failure, natural disasters, or human
error. Data Link Associates has performed successful data recovery
projects for customers worldwide, from a singled data cartridge
to data sets spanning hundreds of cartridges.
Data Link Associates
considers a data recovery project successful when at least 95% of
the data is recovered and the duplicate copy matches the original's
volume header, block count, file marks, and capacity. However, the
ultimate measure of success is when the customer is able to read
the recovered data on their own system.
Data Link recovers
data from media with the following common problems:
- Permanent
read errors
- Accidental
re-initialization or system header corruption
- Off-track
recording
- Physical
damage to tape or case
- Detached
or snapped tape
- Contamination
Data Link has
experience recovering data from the following media formats: 3590,
3480 and 3490e, DLT and TK, 4mm and 8mm, and ORT.
Immediate Diagnostic
Evaluation
When you send
in media for recovery services, Data Link will first perform a diagnostic
evaluation in our lab. Typically within 24 hours, Data Link engineers
will provide you with a report outlining the measures required to
recover your data. If Data Link can't recover the data, the media
is returned to you and there is no charge except for the initial
evaluation.
Through 30 years
of tape manufacturing experience, Data Link has the tape handling
expertise to take on both large and complex data recovery projects
and small one-time jobs
